Page 1 Of 3 An Invention: Day-Night Anti-glare Lens for Eye Spectacles. AN ABSTRACT "The usual traditional way to attempt to counter glare from say approaching vehicle lights at night, or the sun's rays at certain times and positions during daylight hours, has been by using lightly shaded to darker shaded lenses in both prescription and 'sun glasses' which have been on the market in various shapes and sizes for many years. The problem is however that to effectively obscure bothersome glare,dark shaded lenses are required which in turn obscures the road ahead, which can lead to an accident. My invention solves this problem with special lenses by having a dark yet transparent section (similar to a camera film negative resulting from exposure to bright light) above the usual area of vision, having a narrow 'window' section which is perpendicular and at right angles to the base of the shaded section, and proceeding up from the base of the shaded section some two-thirds of the way. The said window is positioned laterally directly above the eye(s) when looking straight ahead. By lowering the head, the windows allows the eyes to see ahead, and by turning the head slightly away fr- om the source of glare, it is obscured in the darkly shaded area beside the said window, allowing an unimpaired view ah- ead."
