A DC resistance welding apparatus having a welding gun for sandwiching workpieces to be welded therebetween. The apparatus has a power supply unit which includes a converter, an inverter, a welding transformer, and a rectifier. The power supply unit supplies a welding current produced from the rectifier to the welding gun. A detector is provided for producing a pulse signal having a leading edge and a trailing edge. The pulse signal corresponds to an output waveform from the inverter. A pulse signal edge detector is provided for detecting and holding current signals corresponding to the leading and trailing edges of the pulse signal. A control is provided for producing a control signal to enable the pulse signal edge detector. A calculator is provided for producing a logarithmic signal from the current signals. The logarithmic signal is indicative of a change in a resistance of the workpieces when the welding current flows therethrough, produced by the pulse signal edge detector and for applying the logarithmic signal to the control. The control is provided to control a flow of current to the welding gun in response to the logarithmic signal. .
Poste de soudage par résistance en c.c. comportant un pistolet de soudage, pour la mise en sandwich de pièces devant être assemblées par soudage. Le poste comprend une alimentation électrique avec convertisseur, onduleur, transformateur de soudage et redresseur. Le bloc d'alimentation fournit au pistolet de soudage le courant de soudage produit par le redresseur. Un détecteur fournit un signal d'impulsion comprenant un flanc avant et un flanc arrière. Le signal d'impulsion correspond à une forme d'onde de sortie de l'onduleur. Un détecteur de flanc de signal d'impulsion sert à détecter et à maintenir les signaux de courant correspondant au flanc avant et au flanc arrière du signal d'impulsion. Un dispositif de contrôle produit un signal de contrôle pour activer le détecteur de flanc de signal d'impulsion. Un calculateur produit un signal logarithmique à partir des signaux de courant. Le signal logarithmique sert à indiquer, lorsque les pièces à souder sont traversées par le courant de soudage, un changement de résistance de ces dernières, produit par le détecteur de flanc de signal d'impulsion, et il est appliqué au contrôle. Le contrôle sert à contrôler le courant vers le pistolet de soudage, en réaction au signal logarithmique.
