A device for recording information on a record carrier (11) is arranged for formatting a multilayer record carrier. The device has formatting means (16) for formatting the record carrier according which formatting includes de-icing by, in the event that locations in the user data area have not yet been recorded, writing dummy data (60) on the locations. The formatting means (16) determine a first radial position (50) and a first layer (40), which first radial position is indicative of a location on the first layer on which user data will be recorded first according to a predefined recording format. Subsequently said de-icing is started by writing of dummy data on a second layer (41) of the record carrier at the first radial position, opposite the location of the first user data (55). Hence a de-iced area (58) is created opposite the user data (55).
L'invention concerne un dispositif permettant d'enregistrer des informations sur un support d'enregistrement (11) et disposé de manière à formater un support d'enregistrement multicouche. Le dispositif comprend des moyens de formatage (16) permettant de formater le support d'enregistrement, le formatage consistant, dans le cas où des emplacements dans la zone de données utilisateur n'ont pas encore été enregistrés, à créer une zone écrite en continu par écriture de données factices (60) sur les emplacements. Les moyens de formatage (16) déterminent une première position radiale (50) et une première couche (40), cette première position radiale indiquant un emplacement sur la première couche sur laquelle des données utilisateur seront enregistrées selon un format d'enregistrement prédéfini. Puis la création de la zone écrite en continu est lancée par écriture de données factices sur une seconde couche (41) du support d'enregistrement au niveau de la première position radiale, à l'opposé de l'emplacement des premières données utilisateur (55). Par conséquent une zone écrite en continu (58) est créée à l'opposé des données utilisateur (55).
