An EAS marker for use in a microwave-GMI article surveillance system includes a length of wire (20) which exhibits a giant magneto-impedance effect, and deactivation elements (24) installed along the length of the wire (20). The deactivation elements (24) exhibit semi-hard ferromagnetic properties and have a triangular profile, or alternatively exhibit acute-angle comers (28) or have edges (30) that cross the wire (20) at acute angles. The deactivation elements can be magnetized to disable the marker.

L'invention concerne un marqueur électronique de surveillance des articles (EAS) utilisable dans un système de surveillance des articles à impédance magnétique géante (GMI) à micro-ondes comprenant une longueur de câble (20) qui présente un effet d'impédance électromagnétique géante, ainsi que des éléments de désactivation (24) placés le long du câble (20). Lesdits éléments (24) présentent des propriétés ferromagnétiques semi-dures et possèdent un profil triangulaire, des coins à angles aigus (28) ou des arêtes (30) qui croisent le câble (20) à angles aigus. Les éléments de désactivation peuvent être magnétisés pour désactiver le marqueur.
