A deburring tool having an indexable cutting insert having four cutting edges. The cutting insert has a main body portion and a protruding guide member (54). The cutting insert is slidably retained in an insert pocket with the main body portion of the insert located in a generally rectangular slot portion of the insert pocket and with the guide member located and engaging a guide groove portion (74) of the insert pocket. The cutting insert is moveable between a retracted position and an extended position by means of a spring which biases the cutting insert towards the extended position. The sliding movement of the cutting insert is performed by the sliding of the guide member within the guide groove.

L'invention porte sur un outil d'ébavurage possédant un insert coupant indexable pourvu de quatre bords coupants. L'insert coupant possède une partie corps principale et un élément de guidage saillant (54). L'insert coupant est maintenu coulissant dans une poche d'insertion par la partie corps principale de l'insert placé dans une fente généralemetn rectangulaire de la poche de l'insert et par l'élément de guidage placé et venant en contact avec une rainure de guidage (74) de la poche de l'insert. L'insert coupant peut se déplacer entre une position rétractée et une position étendue sous l'action d'un ressort qui sollicite l'insert coupant vers la position étendue. Le mouvement coulissant de l'insert coupant s'effectue par le glissement de l'élément de l'élément de guidage dans la rainure appropriée.
