ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A decking panel engageable edge to edge with an identical panel. The panel comprises a panel portion flanked along its side edges with upstanding channels, one of which is a male channel, the other a female channel. The cross-sectional shape of the male channel along one side has an upwardly extending portion and a return flange located over the panel portion. The cross-sectional shape of the female channel along the other side also has an upwardly extending portion and a return flange, but said female return flange is beyond the panel portion. The panel is so constructed and arranged that when the male channel flange of one panel is within the female channel of a second panel of similar cross-sectional configuration in a decking, the two inter-engaged channels have a common mouth directed towards the upper surface of the first said panel. This avoids the downwardly directed, narrow, deep channels of previous decking panels. These narrow, deep channels can form havens for insects.
