ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A decomposition latrine has a chamber in which the decomposable material is heated with the help of a heat source to a temperature in the range of 45-80°C, the attainment of a rapid thermophilic decomposition process with simultaneous pasteurization of the material thus being enabled before the material is removed from the chamber. The pasteurized portion of the mass is movable away from the region at the heat source with the help of a stirring means, rotatable by means of an electric motor.
