There is described a decompression lock configured for opening when a predetermined pressure is exceeded, the lack including a base plate having a trough, a support carriage, longitudinally displaceable along a first axis, slidably supported on the base plate above the trough, a bait rotatably supported on the support carriage, a detent spring fixed to the support carriage, having an outer end for biasing the bolt in a closed position and for releasing the bolt from the closed position at a predetermined overpressure, the detent spring having an inner end disposed in the trough, and a compression spring disposed in the trough and abutting the inner end of the detent spring such that the support carriage and the bolt are biased in a locking position.
