DECORATIVE PANEL ASSEMBLY FOR VEHICLES ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A decorative panel assembly for vehicles adapted for exterior installation having a sheet-like panel, pre- ferably formed from glass, a frit layer, preferably including fused ceramic particles and a coloration pigment, fused to one surface of said panel, and at least one attaching member secured over the frit layer to fasten the assembly to a vehicle body. Preferably, the attaching member is metallic and is bonded over the ceramic frit layer with a suitable metal-to-glass and/or ceramic frit adhesive, while the ceramic frit layer is preferably opaque to conceal the attaching member from view. A trim member or casing may be included around the edge of the panel to decoratively finish the assembly and help space and locate the assembly on the vehicle body.
