DECORATIVE SHEET-TYPE MATERIAL CONTAINING CHIPS AND PROCESS FOR MAKING SAME Abstract of the Disclosure Decorative sheet-type covering material is prepared by first forming a layer of wet, curable plastic adhered to a substrate. Chips having a specific gravity between about 105% and about 120% of the specific gravity of the wet plastic are then distributed on the wet plastic and allowed to sink into the plastic sufficiently to form a smooth surface on the plastic without the chips sinking to the bottom of the layer of plastic. The wet plastic is then cured and a conventional wear layer preferably added.
