A method of producing a low stress, decorative article of manufacture having at least one relief portion extending therefrom includes casting a first thermosetting resin (70) into recesses formed within a mold surface such that the first resin is not in contact with the mold surface. The first resin is partially cured to a "B" stage to provide an air inhibited out-of-mold surface. A coating of second thermosetting resin (82), such as unsaturated polyester, is then applied onto the partially cured first resin and onto the mold surface. A substrate (52) having a face is placed in contacting relationship with the second thermosetting resin film (82) and a progressively moving compressive force is applied (90a, 90b) to the second thermosetting resin via the substrate (52) to prevent air from becoming entrained (80a) within the second thermosetting resin (82). The first and second thermosetting resins (70, 82) cure without the second thermosetting resin (82) imparting shear stress on the first thermosetting resin (70).
L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'un article décoratif fabriqué, de faible intensité et comportant au moins une partie en relief, le procédé consistant à mouler une première (70) résine thermodurcissable dans des creux pratiqués dans une surface de moule de sorte que la première résine ne soit pas en contact avec la surface du moule. La première résine est partiellement durcie jusqu'à une phase <= B >=, ce qui permet d'obtenir une surface extérieure au moule étanche à l'air. On applique ensuite un revêtement d'une deuxième (82) résine thermodurcissable, telle qu'un polyester non saturé, sur la première résine partiellement durcie et la surface du moule. On place un substrat (52) comportant une grande face en contact avec la deuxième (82) résine thermodurcissable puis on applique une force de compression progressive (90a, 90b) sur la deuxième résine thermodurcissable à travers le substrat (52) pour empêcher l'air de pénétrer (80a) dans la deuxième (82) résine thermodurcissable. Les première et deuxième (70, 82) résines thermodurcissables durcissent sans que la deuxième (82) résine thermodurcissable n'applique une contrainte de cisaillement sur la première (70) résine thermodurcissable.
