DECREASING THE METALLIC CONTENT OF LIQUIDS BY AN ELECTROCHEMICAL TECHNIQUE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method for decreasing the metallic content of a solution which comprises passing an electric current through a solution containing metallic material, which solution is contained as the electrolyte in a cell, said cell having at least one positive and one negative electrode, between which the current is passed, and wherein the electrolyte also contains a bed of particles, distri- buted therein, such that the porosity of the bed is from about 40 to 80%, porosity being defined as Image The electrolysis of the electrolyte is continued until the desired reduction in the metallic content thereof is obtained.
