A method of decrypting a cipher polynomial (e) using a private key (f) comprises: (a) Computing a trial polynominal (a), where a = f* e (mod q) and (q) is an integer; (b) Determining, on the basis of the trial polynomial (a), whether the polynomial (e) has decoded correctly, and if not: (i) determining which coefficient or coefficients of the trial polynomial (a) are likely to have caused the failure to decode; (ii) adjusting the said coefficient or coefficients to define a new trial polynomial; and (iii) attempting to decode the cipher polynomial (e) using the new trial polynomial. The method is particularly applicable to public key cryptosystems and, more particularly, to polynomial-based systems.
La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant de déchiffrer un polynôme cryptographique (e) à l'aide d'une clé privée (f) qui consiste à : (a) calculer un polynôme de vérification (a), dans lequel a = f* e (mod q) et (q) est un entier ; (b) déterminer, sur la base du polynôme de vérification (a), si le polynôme (e) a été décodé correctement et si tel n'est pas le cas, : (i) déterminer quel coefficient(s) du polynôme de vérification (a) est/sont susceptible(s) d'avoir provoqué l'échec du décodage ; (ii) ajuster le(s)dit(s) coefficient(s) afin de définir un nouveau polynôme de vérification ; et (iii) tenter de décoder le polynôme cryptographique (e) à l'aide du nouveau polynôme de vérification. Le procédé de l'invention est applicable, en particulier, aux systèmes de chiffrement à clé publique et, plus particulièrement, aux systèmes fondés sur les polynômes.
