In a deep rolling machine known from the state of the art, the power unit is attached in a gate such that it can be moved in the direction of force exertion. The power unit is connected with articulation at one end by a joint to the end of a shearing arm of the deep rolling unit. The free end of the gate is fitted with a back up roller routed along a curved web, which has a gap in the second end of the shearing arm. In the closed position of the power unit, three joints form a triangle. One of the joints points to the rotating joint, by which the two shearing arms of the deep rolling unit are connected to one another with articulation. Also in the closed position, a crank lever reaches the limit stop at the end of the second shearing arm.
