ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE There is disclosed a deep side banding knife which is capable of withstanding severe rock conditions and which is de- signed to permit dry or liquid fertilizers to be deposited at a depth of one and one half to two and one half inches below and to the side of the seed bed thereby permitting farmers to deep band fertilize at the same time as another operation is being carried out in the soil. The knife can also be mounted on a hoe drill. The knife has a mounting bracket for mounting it on an air seeder or heavy duty cultivator or hoe drill and has a fertilizer delivery tube attached to rear edge.
