DEFLECTABLE, NON-COLLAPSING MEMBER FOR USE IN FLUID CUSHION CONTAINMENT FOR A GROUND EFFECT SURFACE Abstract of the Disclosure A cushion containing member for a ground effect vehicle comprises a main body member having a predetermined stiffness and a web extending from an inner edge of the body member for attachment to a vehicle. The web includes means for resisting upward deflection of the body member and the body member is inherently non-collapsing. The cushion containing means for a vehicle may comprise a plurality of such members extending side-by-side at the cushion periphery and a vehicle can include a number of such members extending for at least part of the cushion periphery. - i -
