DEFLECTOR MEANS FOR MOWER-CONDITIONER ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention seeks to improve the versatility of mower-conditioners by providing a single machine which can produce a relatively confined windrow of cut crop or a relatively scattered windrow for fast drying of the crop and without the need for a separate tedding operation. In accordance with the invention a mower-conditioner comprises mower means for cutting standing crop, rotary crop conditioner and spreader means located rearwardly of the mower means for operating on the cut crop, fixed deflector means positioned rearwardly of the crop conditioner and spreader means and further deflector means movable between first and second positions relative to the fixed deflector means, the fixed and movable deflector means being operable in one position of the movable deflector means to form a windrow of the crop discharged from the crop conditioner and spreader means and in the other position of the movable deflector means to allow the crop conditioner and spreader means to widely spread the cut crop.
