ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Compositions for controlling foam in aqueous systems are prepared by dispersing in an organic liquid the particles of an amide with the reaction product of an alkyl or aryl halosilane and a base. Polymers, fatty acids and glycerides may also be present as organic components in the compositions. These compositions do not lose defoaming ability or increase in viscosity after they are heated at elevated temperatures or stored for long periods of time.
