The invention relates to a method for defoaming liquid hydrocarbons, whereby liquid esters of general formula (I): R'-COO-R'', in which R' and R'', independent of one another, represent saturated or unsaturated, linear or branched alkyl radicals with 6 to 16 C atoms in quantities ranging from 1 to 5000 ppm, are added to said hydrocarbons at ambient temperature.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour démousser des hydrocarbures liquides, selon lequel des esters liquides de formule générale (I) sont ajoutés, à température ambiante, auxdits hydrocarbures liquides, dans des quantités comprises entre 1 et 5.000 ppm. Dans cette formule, R' et R'' désignent indépendamment l'un de l'autre des restes alkyle saturés ou insaturés, linéaires ou ramifiés, ayant entre 6 et 16 atomes de C.
