Each side member (1) has an opening (8) in which each end (9) of the crosspiece presses on the side member by means of suspension springs (16). Two wedges (18), which are supported by springs (17) and applied by an oblique surface (18) against a corresponding oblique surface (9a) of the crosspiece, as a consequence frictionally contact one face (8a) of the side member (1) so as to dampen the suspension oscillations. The line of the steepest gradient (L) of the oblique surfaces (9a, 18b) forms an angle (B) with the median longitudinal plane (PP) of the bogie. In this fashion, the horizontal thrust (PH) borne by the wedge comprises a component (PT) which is used for clamping the side member (1) between a mobile surface (18d) integral with the wedge (18) and a reference surface (9a) of the crosspiece (11). For use in stabilizing the bogie while seeking to prevent the longitudinal movements of the side members in relation to each other.

Voir Figure 2.
