The invention relates to a defrosting agent containing: a) 51 to 70 percent by weight of an alkali metal carboxylate; b) 0.001 to 1 percent by weight of a surface active agent; c) 0.0001 to 1 percent by weight of a defrothing agent and d) 0.001 to 1 by weight of a corrosion inhibitor and water to 100 percent by weight.
