ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Thermoplastics compositions, especially poly- olefine compositions, contain a metal carboxylate plus a free carboxylic acid as a synergistic prodegradant. Iron stearate plus extra stearic acid is an effective mixture for low and high density polyethylene. The compositions are useful for making disposable plastic wrappings, containers and the like.
