ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides .DELTA.15-steroids of the general formula I Image (I) in which R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a trialkylsilyl or acyl group, R2 represents an ethynyl, chlorethynyl or propynyl group, and X represents an oxygen atom or a grouping of the formula Image or NOR4, in which R3 represents a hydrogen atom or an acyl group and R4 represents a hydrogen atom or an acyl, alkyl, cycloalkyl or tetrahydropyranyl group. The compounds of the present invention possess valuable steroid hormone properties and can be used as pharmaceutics.
