ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An electrocardiograph monitoring system for use with a demand pacemaker, comprising detecting means for electro- cardiographic signals tuned to the frequency components represent- ative of QRS waves and to the exclusion of P and T waves, rate discrimination means responsive to the detection means for dis- tinguishing between operating rates above and below normal rates for human heartbeats and means responsive to the discrimination means for operating in two different modes depending upon whether the rate is above or below normal.
