ABSTRACT There is disclosed a demodulating device for demodu- lating a composite PSK-PSK modulated wave comprising a 2n-phase (n being a positive integer) PSK modulated wave carrying a main signal and a 2-phase modulated wave carrying a subdata signal having a symbol rate slower than that of said main data signal. The subdata signal includes a frame signal. The device has a phase synchronizing demodulator for providing two orthogonally demodulated signals in response to the composite PSK-PSK modulated wave. The subdata signal is reproduced from the two orthogonally demodulated signals. The main data is reproduced from the two orthogonally demodulated signals in response to the subdata signal. The frame signal is extracted from the reproduced subdata signal and the phase locking-in state is discriminated in the phase synchronizing demodulator in response to the reproduced subdata signal and the extracted frame signal and provides a control signal. The subdata signal components are removed from the reproduced main data in response to the control signal. The invention removes the subdata signal components from the reproduced main data signal in a manner to permit the subdata signal to have high noise immunity.
