DEMOUNTABLE COIL FORM FOR EPOXY-IMPREGNATED COILS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A demountable coil form for fabricating epoxy impregnated superconductive coils has a split ring around which the coil is wound before it is epoxy impregnated. The split ring has an axial opening which has a taper from its widest configuration at the inner diameter to a narrower configuration at the outer diameter. A wedge with a matching taper is secured in the opening, flush with the outer surface of the ring. A collar clamp secured on either side of the opening can adjust the size of the ring. Side plates are secured to the ring and extend radially outward of the ring. After the coil is wound on the ring and impregnated with epoxy and the epoxy cured, the collar clamp is loosened and the wedge removed. The size of the opening can then be reduced and the coil removed.
