The present application is directed to a dentifrice composition stably containing cetylpyridinium chloride. The composition has improved shape retention at low temperatures and is in the form of an aqueous gel. The composition comprises 15 to 80% by weight of a polyoxyethylene- polyoxypropylene block copolymer surfactant based on the total weight of the composition, 0.001 to 5% by weight of cetylpyridinium chloride based on the total weight of the composition, and polyethylene glycol having an average molecular weight of 2,000 to 20,000 in a proportion of 1/200 to 1/4 based on the weight of the polyoxyethylene- polyoxypropylene block copolymer.
