There is provided a new and useful deployment structure for launching a survival craft at sea from a vessel, the deployment structure adapted for rotation between a secured position and a deployed position and comprising an elongated central part having a lower end for rotatable connection to the vessel and an upper end for rotatably supporting a survival craft or a survival craft cradle; and wherein, when the structure is in the secured position on a vessel, a section of the elongated part extends in the outboard direction beyond a vertical plane through the means for rotatably supporting the craft or the cradle.
