A zinc oxide coating is deposited onto the surface of a continuous glass ribbon during a float glass production process using a chemical vapour deposition process in which the vapour comprises a dialkyl zinc precursor and at least one oxygen containing organic compound which is preferably ethyl acetate. The conductivity of the coating may be increased by introducing a dopant such as fluorine or aluminium. The coated glass is useful in solar control and low emissivity glazing.

Un revêtement d'oxyde de zinc est déposé par dépôt chimique en phase vapeur sur la surface d'un ruban continu en verre durant un procédé de production de verre flotté dans lequel on utilise un procédé de dépôt chimique en phase vapeur. Dans ce dernier procédé, la vapeur comprend un précurseur de dialkyle de zinc et au moins un composé organique contenant de l'oxygène, qui est de préférence de l'acétate d'éthyle. On peut augmenter la conductivité du revêtement en introduisant un dopant tel que du fluor ou de l'aluminium. Le verre revêtu est utile pour le vitrage solaire et le vitrage à faible émissivité.
