ABSTRACT A depth punch includes a sleeve having a central bore, a flat, smooth lowermost surface and a threaded upper end. A shaft is slidable in the sleeve, the lowermost end of the shaft being adapted for forming indentations in a workpiece such as a mold face, upon the shaft being stuck. A striking head is formed on the upper end of the shaft, the head having an upper surface adapted to be struck, and a lower surface extending flange-like from the upper end of the shaft. The lower surface is capable of limiting the downward travel of the shaft, and hence the depth of the indentations by contact with an adjustment nut which is threaded onto the sleeve. A lock nut is threaded onto the sleeve beneath said adjustment nut.
