A B S T R A C T Hydroxy substituted 15-deoxy prostanoic acids and derivatives there- of, having the general formula Image wherein R1, R2, R3, Y and Z are as defined herein, and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts, constitute a new series of compounds related to the prostag- landins and possessing many similar pharmacological properties, such as anti- ulcerogenic effects. Processes for their preparation as well as intermediates therefor are also described.
