ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE New derivatives of indazole and their preparation are provided of the formula (I):- Image (I) wherein R1 is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl radical. R' is a hydrogen atom or an acyl radical and R2 is a benzyl radical or a radical of the formula:- Image in which X is a reactive residue and Y is a hydroxyl group or X and Y together represent an oxygen atom and, when R ' is an acyl radical, R2 can also be a hydrogen atom, the derivatives have been found to be valuable intermediates for the preparation of useful, pharmacologically-active compounds, for example, 3-indazolyl-(4)-oxy-propan-2-ol amines which can bring about an inhibition of adrenergic .beta.-receptors and can, therefore, be used for the treatment and propylaxis of cardiac and circulatory diseases.
