ABSTRACT Disclosed herein are novel derivatives of the oliqosaccharide antibiotic complex 13-384 the derivatives being of the general formula I (I), Image wherein R is hydrogen or Z, where Z is a moiety of the general formula II Image (II), in which R1 is nitroso, N-hydroxylamino, N-acyl-N- hydroxyl-amino, N-acylamino, N-alkylamino or N,N- dialkylamino and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts. Also disclosed are processes for the preparation of the derivatives and pharmaceutical compositions containing them. The novel derivatives exhibit advantageous antibacterially properties. P/PASPO787
