DESIGN A-RAP is manufactured by a laser or bubble printer which is designed to print a brief customized message on occasion-related gift wrapping paper (or shopping bags, or gift boxes) to enhance the appeal of customer purchases in businesses such as retail stores, catalogue firms and gift shops. DESIGN-A-RAP incorporates software (yet to be designed) which would enable the computer operator to program customer-designed messages from his (the operator's)own language into any other major language, and embellished it appropriately with graphics or motifs appropriate to the customer's ethnic, cultural, or national requirements. Note: as the prospective software is limited in nature (i.e. limited to gift greetings for special occasions), software design should be relatively simple to create using a team of translation experts with access to international "banks" of cultural, and national greetings, along with appropriate graphics to match the greeting. Once a method for designing the above software has been established, DESIGN-A-RAP, theory could be used as a basis for creating other communications systems; for example, an operator could draft a bulletin for an international sales convention, initially in his own language, and later in any of the major languages included in his software--ergo, instant translation.
