Abstract of the Disclosure A pneumatic radial passenger tire having a ground-engaging tread portion 12 and a pair of axially opposed tread edges. The tread portion 12 comprising at least two circumferential continuous grooves 16,17 formed by alternately disposed axially and circumferential extending segments. Each of the segments have a particular angle orientation. There is also provided additional grooves 30,38 connecting the circumferentially extending grooves and which extend from the axially outer circumferential grooves 17 to the tread edge.
