DESTROKING START VALVE FOR VARIABLE DISPLACEMENT PUMP ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A destroking device for use with a variable displacement hydraulic pump driven by an electric motor, which device automatically reduces the dis- placement of the pump during start-up of the motor to a value which will ensure that the motor will accelerate to its rated speed and automatically relinquishes control of the pump when the motor reaches its rated running speed.
