The invention is a method of removing sulfur from a hydrocarbon feed using the steps of dissolving metallic sodium in a solvent and combining the sodium/solvent solution with a liquid hydrocarbon feed containing an organosulfur species. The pressure of combination is above the vapor pressure of the solvent. The combined hydrocarbon feed and solvent solution are placed in a low pressure environment to vaporize the solvent. The resulting stream is combined with hydrogen gas and this stream is heated and pressurized to form a liquid hydrocarbon product containing sodium sulfide. This product is then cooled, and the sodium sulfide is extracted.
L'invention concerne un procédé permettant d'éliminer du soufre d'une charge d'hydrocarbures au moyen d'étapes consistant à dissoudre du sodium métallique dans un solvant et à combiner la solution de sodium/solvant avec une charge d'hydrocarbures liquide renfermant des espèces d'organo-sulfure. La pression de la combinaison est supérieure à la pression de la vapeur du solvant. La charge d'hydrocarbures et la solution de solvant combinées sont placées dans un environnement de basse pression, de manière à vaporiser le solvant. Le flux obtenu est combiné à du gaz d'hydrogène et ce flux est chauffé et mis sous pression, de manière à former un produit d'hydrocarbures liquide renfermant du sulfure de sodium. Ce produit est ensuite refroidi et le sulfure de sodium est extrait.
