A sleeve (4) arranged at a pipe or cylinder end (1) has a turn-out (5) toward the open end, which axially extends over a component (2) with an integrally formed shoulder (8) and with a radially outwardly projecting collar (3). A plurality of recesses (6) with a contact surface (11) each, with which wedge-shaped tensioning elements (7) are in contact over their full surface, are arranged in the turn-out (5) of the sleeve in the circumferential direction. Between the shoulder (8) and the wedge-shaped tensioning elements (7), screws (tensioners 9) bring about a nonpositive and positive locking between the sleeve (4), the tensioning elements (7) and the collar (3) of the component (2) to be tensioned during the assembly. An increasing internal pressure brings about an increase in the reliability of the tensioning. Corresponding to the materials used, the angle between the wedge surfaces of the tensioning elements (7) or the contact surfaces (11) of the sleeve (4) and the respective tensioning or central axes (10) of the tensioning elements (7) has a value that ensures static friction and consequently self locking of the tensioned components after the tensioning process.
