DETACHABLE FILTER AND OSTOMY BAG INCLUDING SAME ABSTRACT: An attachable and detachable filter for use with an ostomy bag includes a plastics housing member having two portions hinged together by an integral hinge, each portion having a peripheral wall and at least one of the walls having apertures therein. One portion of the housing member carried a sharp-pointed and resilient-headed generally cylindrical stud which is a push fit through an aperture in the other to clamp together the two portions, there being at least one layer of gas-filtering material contained within one or other or both the housing portions. The gas filtering material may be carbon cloth. Alternatively it may be a woven or non-woven fibrous material impregnated with acti- vated carbon particles.
