The present invention provides a tailcone and power assembly (10) mountable to the body of are aircraft using a height adjustable dolly (11) The tailcone assembly comprises a longitudinal support member (14), a gas turbine engine (12) mounted to the support member; a firewall (17); two curved rotatable casings (18) hingeably connected to the support member (14); an inlet duct (76) extending from an aperture (74) in one of the rotatable casings (18) to the engine inlet (80); are integral exhaust casing (20), and interface means for making necessary engine accessory connections to the aircraft. The tailcone is installed on the aircraft by mounting the tailcone (10) in the adjustable dolly (11), rolling the dolly up to the aircraft, adjusting the dolly until the auxiliary power assembly (10) is properly aligned for attachment to the aircraft, connecting the engine accessories to the aircraft, and bolting the assembly (10) to the aircraft.

L'invention porte sur un ensemble (10) cône arrière/groupe auxiliaire se montant sur le fuselage d'un avion à l'aide d'un diabolo (11) ajustable en hauteur. Ledit ensemble comporte un élément support longitudinal (14), une turbine à gaz (12) montée sur l'élément de support, une cloison coupe feu (17), deux carters incurvés tournants (18) montés pivotants sur l'élément de support (14), une entrée d'air (76) s'étendant d'une ouverture (74) pratiquée dans l'un des carters tournants (18) à l'entrée d'air (80) du moteur, un carter d'échappement intégré (20), un moyen d'interfaçage assurant les connexions nécessaires des accessoires du moteur avec l'avion. Pour monter le cône arrière (10) sur l'avion, on le place sur le diabolo réglable (11), on roule le diabolo jusqu'à l'avion, jusqu'à ce que l'ensemble groupe auxiliaire (10) soit correctement positionné pour permettre sa fixation à l'avion, puis on raccorde les accessoires du moteur à l'avion et on visse l'ensemble (10) à l'avion.
