ABSTRACT A means for detachably connecting a load supporting member on a pedestal structure incorporates a separable joint between the pedestal leg and the brackets it engages at each end. The means utilizes a sleeve of synthetic resin having surface lubricity which sleeve is bonded to the pedestal leg and has a conical exterior surface which detachably seats into a complementary conical socket of a bracket for connecting the leg either to its support or to the load.
