A T-square comprising a longitudinal member, a cross-piece member removably mountable onto a connection point of the longitudinal member, and securing means for removably securing the cross-piece member onto the longitudinal member. The securing means comprise a dovetail assembly having complementary tenon and mortise portions provided onto the cross-piece and longitudinal members respectively. Alternatively, the tenon and mortise portions may be provided onto the longitudinal and cross-piece members respectively. The securing means comprise connecting means for operatively connecting the cross-piece member onto the longitudinal member. By virtue of its design and components, the present T-square is detachable, thereby enabling it to take on a reduced configuration when stored, transported, and/or displayed.
