A method and kit for the identification of an individual's genetic polymorphism pattern associated with low bone mineral density in osteoporosis is disclosed. The kit includes DNA sample collecting materials and probes for determining a genetic polymorphism pattern which is then analyzed to determine a subject's susceptibility to osteoporosis.
