T 5561 A B S T R A C T DETECTING OUTFLOW OR INFLOW OF FLUID IN A WELLBORE A method for detecting outflow of fluid from an offshore wellbore (5) to a surrounding earth formation (7) or inflow of fluid from the formation (7) to the wellbore (5), said wellbore (5) being in fluid communication with a conduit (13) extending between the wellbore (5) and an offshore structure (1) floating above the wellbore (5). The wellbore (5) and the conduit (13) are at least partly filled with a body of fluid (82). A first stream of liquid is inserted into the body of fluid (82) and a second stream of liquid is discharged therefrom.
