A method of detecting circulating melanoma or carcinoma cells in a subject. The method comprises obtaining a body fluid from a subject and detecting the expression of a panel of genes in the body fluid, wherein the expression of the panel of genes indicates the presence of circulating melanoma or carcinoma cells in the subject. Genes useful for detecting melanoma cells includes Ga1NAc-T, MAGE-A3, MART-1, PAX-3, and TRP-2; genes useful for detecting carcinoma cells include C-Met, MAGE-A3, Stanniocalcin-1, Stanniocalcin-2, mammaglobin, HSP27, Ga1NAc-T, CK20, and .beta.-HCG. Also disclosed are kits containing agents for detecting the expression of these genes.
L'invention concerne un procédé de détection de cellules de mélanome ou de carcinome circulantes chez un sujet. Ce procédé consiste à prélever un liquide biologique d'un sujet et à détecter l'expression d'un panel de gènes dans ledit liquide biologique, l'expression du panel de gènes indiquant la présence de cellules de mélanome ou de carcinome circulantes chez le sujet. Parmi les gènes utiles pour la détection de cellules de mélanome, on peut citer les gènes Ga1NAc-T, MAGE-A3, MART-1, PAX-3, et TRP-2 ; et parmi les gènes utiles pour la détection de cellules de carcinome, on peut citer les gènes C-Met, MAGE-A3, stanniocalcine-1, stanniocalcine-2, mammaglobine, HSP27, Ga1NAc-T, CK20, et ß-HCG. L'invention concerne également des kits contenant des agents qui permettent de détecter l'expression desdits gènes.
