Methods and systems discriminate between food and drink intake, optionally with a single temperature sensor positioned in a patient's stomach. Ingestion events may be detected and the substance ingested is classified as either food or drink based on several characteristics of the in- tra-gastric temperature signal from before, during, and after ingestion. Mul-tiple ingestion events making up a meal may be detected and classified such that the entire meal can be classified as food only, drink only, or mixed food and drink. Treatments to a patient may be at least partially based upon the detection and classification of ingestion events. A method of preparing an intake classification algorithm using a training set of temperature data is also provided
La présente invention concerne des procédés et systèmes permettant la discrimination entre lingestion daliments ou de boissons, éventuellement avec un unique capteur de température placé dans lestomac dun patient. Des événements dingestion peuvent être détectés et la substance ingérée est classifiée comme étant un aliment ou une boisson sur la base de plusieurs caractéristiques du signal de température intra-gastrique obtenu avant, pendant, et après lingestion. Une pluralité dévénements dingestion constituant un repas peuvent être détectés et classifiés de sorte que lensemble du repas peut être classifié comme étant exclusivement un aliment, exclusivement une boisson, ou un mélange daliment et de boisson. Des traitements à un patient peuvent être au moins en partie basés sur la détection et la classification dévénements dingestion. Linvention concerne également un procédé de préparation dun algorithme de classification dingestion au moyen dun ensemble dapprentissage de données de température.
