There is provided an in vitro method of detecting human papillomavirus nucleic acid in a sample, comprising: (a) contacting said sample with forward and reverse oligonucleotide primers, wherein said primers bind to target sites in the human papillomavirus L1 gene, or the complement thereof, under conditions suitable to promote amplification of a portion of said human papillomavirus L1 gene or complement, thereby generating an amplicon; (b) contacting said amplicon with a probe, wherein the probe binds to a target site within said amplicon; and (c) detecting binding of said probe to said amplicon; wherein said forward primer binds to a target site having the sequence SEQ ID NO: 1; and wherein said reverse primer binds to a target site having the sequence SEQ ID NO: 2.

L'invention concerne une méthode de détection in vitro d'acide nucléique de papillomavirus humain dans un échantillon, consistant: (a) à mettre en contact ledit échantillon avec des amorces oligonucléotidiques directes et inverses, lesdites amorces se liant à des sites cibles au niveau du gène L1 du papillomavirus humain, ou de son complément, dans des conditions appropriées pour favoriser l'amplification d'une partie dudit gène L1 du papillomavirus humain ou dudit complément, ce qui permet ainsi de générer un amplicon; (b) à mettre en contact ledit amplicon avec une sonde, la sonde se liant à un site cible dans ledit amplicon; et (c) à détecter une liaison de ladite sonde avec ledit amplicon; ladite amorce directe se liant à un site cible présentant la séquence SEQ ID NO: 1; et ladite amorce inverse se liant à un site cible présentant la séquence SEQ ID NO:2.
