ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Means for actuating the compressed air brake system of a vehicle on the detection by a sensor of an obstacle, the brake system having a service brake circuit and a parking brake cir- cuit. A valve assembly will, at a signal from the sensor, open for supplying compressed air from the parking brake circuit di- rect to the service brake cylinders. As an alternative, the parking spring brake cylinders may be voided for application of the parking brakes.
