ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A granulated detergent builder consisting of 65 to 80% by weight of a water-insoluble silicate, capable of bonding calcium, in the form of a finely divided, bonded-water-contain- ing, synthetically produced, water-insoluble crystalline com- pound having the general formula (Kat2/nO)x . Me2O3 . (SiO2)y (I), wherein Kat represents a cation exchangeable with calcium and having the valency n, x represents a number from 0.7 to 1.5, Me represents boron or aluminium and y represents a number from 0.8 to 6, 4 to 10% by weight of sodium nitrole triacetate, 1.5 to 3% by weight of non-ionic surfactant, 0 to 1% by weight of alkali, 0.5 to 1.5% by weight of carboxy-methyl cellulose and/or methyl cellulose, the remainder being water, can be produced by spray drying of a suspension in which all the components are dispersed or dissolved.
