ABSTRACT These is described a method for the detection of occult human blood in human stool samples. The stool sample is first analyzed according to the peroxidase method (e.g. benzi- dine, o-toluidine, guiacum) and thereafter immunologically, e.g. according to the sandwich method, to detect a compo- nent of human origin, e.g. human globulin, which is not normally present in human stool.
